Faith Is Superior To Fact

Faith Is Superior To Fact.

This is a glorious day and we shall be looking at the subject of faith is superior to fact. We have a strong belief that this edition shall encourage and challenge someone’s faith. It will also make some start on a new journey of faith.

Fact is a reflection of true status that is verifiable by a clear and visible evidence. It has to do with the reality. The world system is managed on facts and figures which are the motivators behind different nations allocating huge funding to facts finding. The fact spans through politics, economy, census, science, technology, climate etc.

The regular collation of data is necessary to draw out facts for decision making. Likewise, the life of a common person is directed, endangered, limited or entrapped by the kind of facts around him. Some of which can be fact on origin, background, place of birth, tribe, physical appearance or fitness, lack/type of education.

Anytime any of the fact is not properly managed, fear sets in to skip of the feet; leading to absolute loss of self confidence, esteem and resignation to fate. Faith is the only force capable of handling your fact because it is superior.

As a child of God; you are peculiar, and created to show forth the glory of God. This can only be achieved and sustained by rising far above every fact with faith. Your faith is superior and at the same time stronger.

What is faith? Heb. 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Faith is a belief as well as a force that produces a desirable reality; demonstrated and empowered by what you see, say, hear and think. It is anchored on the power of God, his words and promises . It is supreme and the final authority. Unfortunately, many believe in different things including idols, pseudo gods and self above God.

The Superiority of Faith
Several records in the bible established the superiority of faith over fact. We are looking at a few of the happenings to encourage us to stretch our faith and exercise dominion over every fact contrary to the will of God.

1. Creation: The superiority of faith over fact was first played out in creation. Before the beginning of creation, the earth was in a dark situation; which was the reality – fact. Genesis 1:2-3, “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

The earth was in a factual state of absolute darkness and disorder. God’s desire was a better state which brought about his declaration – let there be light. This declaration of faith generated light that chased out every darkness to set the earth in order.

Hebrews 11:3a, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,….”

2. Abraham & Sarah: Genesis 18:10-11, “And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.”

There was a promised from God to Abraham and Sarah to make them fruitful even at old age. The fact was that Sarah had attained menopause which medically implied that Sarah has outgrown the capacity to conceive not to talk of giving birth.

In order for the fulfillment of this promise, God had to sow a seed of faith in Abraham by making him to see differently. Genesis 15:5, “And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.”

3. David and Goliath: At the time of David’s engagement with Goliath, his profile revealed he was a small, shepherd boy with no knowledge of war. He was managing sheep and never managed ordinary men not to talk of men of war.

Here comes David, the shepherd boy faced with Goliath; the warlord. The fact was real that David was not qualified but the shepherd boy rode on the wings of faith to a glorious victory. He made a declaration that delivered the giant into his hands as recorded in the book of 1 Samuel 17:45-46

4. The Bleeding Woman: There was a woman with the issue of blood for 12 years. She has spent all her resources looking for medical helps with solution. Was this woman sick? Yes, that was an undeniable fact around her.

In her dilemma, she had heard about Jesus Christ the greatest physician and his miracles. This knowledge of Christ produced the faith to challenge her fact. The faith resonated in her statement; if I may touch but his clothes.

Mark 5:25-29, “And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.”

Her faith of few days reversed that fact of many years that defiled medical solutions.

Bold declaration: “My faith is superior, stronger and shall reverse every fact contrary to God’s will in my life.”

The Simplicity of Faith
The faith that God requires from us is simple, not complex or complicated.

This was well played out in the scripture; Luke 17:5-6, “And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.”

The simplicity can be that if I can just shout Hallelujah to God that every raging battle of my life shall cease. Most of the times, we try to rationalize this simplicity to think that it does not make sense.

Anything that does not make sense is stupid. Never equate the simplicity of faith as stupidity. To us, it is the power of God while to the world, it can be assumed as foolishness because God chooses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise.

How Do I Get Faith?
There are three basic ways through which faith can be possessed.
1. Direct Communication from God.
This is the highest form of getting faith. God spoke directly with several people in the bible and this gave them immutable faith. The condition for this is strong relationship with God and lifestyle of holiness.

2. Gift of the Holy Ghost.
Faith is one of both the gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit. When you are born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, you can receive faith as the fruit or a gift of the Spirit.

3. Listening to the Word of God.
Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
You must create opportunities and avenues to hear the word of God always. Become a member of a living church with regular attendance to hear the word, study the scriptures regularly and listen to recorded messages.

If you are genuinely born again, filled with Holy Spirit, devoted to God and the word, you have the faith to confront your fact. However, if you have not submitted to Christ and not born again, you can decide for Christ now and he shall accept you.
